Herff Farms
If you're looking for a new way to spend a Saturday, you might want to consider the Farmers Market at Herff Farm. This unique, open-air market is located on historic Herff Farm and offers local produce and other local products. The Herff Farm is also home to the Cibolo Nature Center, a 100-acre property with six miles of trail, nature displays, and other cool stuff. It is not hard to see why this site was selected as the place to go for an afternoon of fun.
Not to be overlooked is the Herff Homestead, a 60 acre historically significant piece of land. This is a great venue for a wedding or other special occasion, but it's also a nice place to take a break from the crowds and enjoy the natural surroundings. There are a number of things to do here, including an array of funky birdhouses, some impressive community gardens, and a bird sanctuary.
In addition to the farmers' market, the Herff Farm is a great place to see a wide array of plants and animals. Some of the more interesting species are the native prairie grasses and cactus. One of the more intriguing facts about the Herff Farm is the presence of an unnamed freshwater source, which is rare to find in this part of Texas.
The Herff Farm has an impressive suite of features that are not only fun to explore but are also relevant to a growing and changing Boerne. They are a part of the larger Cibolo Conservation Corridor, which is a partnership among various entities to protect the water quality of Cibolo Creek.
Boerne Escape Rooms
Did you know our escape room opened here in Boerne in June of 2021? The husband and wife team/owners have been working tirelessly to create 4 uniquely designed and themed rooms for locals and visitors alike to enjoy!
There’s the 1st room that opened, Seasoning of the Witch, and it’s a really fun spin on a Hansel and Gretel story. The storyline is fun to enjoy while working through the puzzles/riddles/clues, etc. Your goal in this room is to escape a witch’s cabin before she returns to eat you!
The second room built was designed specifically for younger kids and their parents, or anyone looking to enjoy a less intense, more magical experience. Fairy Kingdom is the name, and a magical story with dragons and fun furry animals don’t disappoint! The room was painted by a very talented muralist, Isabel Keddy-Hector, and has some set pieces built by a mechanical engineer, Cameron Reynolds, to ensure safety while you are immersed in the fairytale magic.
The third room designed and built has some personal background and fun local connections as well. It’s a cave theme (this part of Texas has some amazing caves, so it seemed a perfect theme for this town), and the mystery you uncover as Sasquatch hunters in this room is just wild.
Most recently, the Santa’s Helpers room was completed. This is a Christmas theme available all year, and possibly surprisingly you’ll find it’s the hardest of all 4 rooms, but magical and wonderfully thematic throughout nonetheless.
Kuhlmann-King Historic Complex
The Kuhlmann-King Historic Complex in Boerne, Texas is one of the oldest attractions in the area. This attraction features more than 2,000 artifacts and four historic buildings.
Visitors can take a tour of the buildings on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. These tours are free of charge. In addition to the buildings, the complex includes a 1910 City Hall, a large home built by German immigrants, and a brewing plant.
Aside from the main attractions in the city, Boerne has many other exciting things to do. If you are planning a vacation in the Hill Country, you should consider visiting the area. Cave Without a Name
The Cave Without a Name is located in the Texas Hill Country. It is an ancient cave that has been in existence for hundreds of millions of years.
During the early 20th century, a few humans began to make contact with the cave. At that time, it was known as the "Cave of Mystery."
This subterranean treasure has captivated visitors of all ages. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, gemstone panning, a nature trail, and a pavilion. There is even a gift shop filled with rocks, minerals, jewelry, and other gifts.
A short trail leads visitors to the cave's most unique feature. Here, the mineral-rich solution has deposited a large, beautiful stalactite.
The cave has a gift shop featuring an impressive collection of rocks, minerals, crystals, and other gems. You can also take home a memento from your visit to this magical place.
In addition to the cave's mystical features, visitors can also learn about its history. The natural acids in local groundwater have sculpted the limestone foundation of the cave.
There are dozens of spectacular formations in the cave. It is filled with a variety of stalactites and stalagmites, as well as rimstone dams and flowstones.
There are also several large rooms in the cave, which are filled with a variety of interesting features. One of the most notable rooms is the "Queen's Throne." It features natural acoustics and three domes on its ceiling.
Soda Pops

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner with the notable exceptions being the Sunday car show and Wednesday and Saturday night. Located at 112 East Main Street in the heart of Boerne's historic district, the restaurant is a pleasant place to spend an evening or afternoon.
Cibolo Nature Center
The Cibolo Nature Center and Farm are a non-profit educational center dedicated to bringing nature to the people. The center offers outdoor and indoor recreation, and activities, as well as educational programs for children and adults. It is located on 100 acres of Hill Country trails.
The center was established in 1984 by Brent Evans and his wife. Since then, the center has evolved into a model for conservation education in Texas. Today, the organization hosts over 300 educational programs per year. Many of the programs focus on educating individuals about environmental issues and habitat stewardship. Some of the presenters at the center include natural resource experts, university professors, and Master Gardeners.
In 2007, the Cibolo Nature Center and Farm acquired the 60-acre Herff Farm, an ecologically important property on the outskirts of Boerne. This property was once home to a pioneer surgeon, Ferdinand Herff, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the farm promotes sustainable land use and small-scale agriculture.
The Cibolo Nature Center is also a member of the Cibolo Corridor Conservation Initiative, which is a collaboration between various partners including the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, The Nature Conservancy, and several other environmental organizations. This initiative is designed to protect four miles of the Cibolo Creek.
Cibolo Nature Center and Farm are surrounded by natural landscapes and mature landscaping. A mixture of indoor and outdoor spaces is found throughout the facility, which makes it a great place for a private gathering or family outing.
